AboutThe Tana River Festival is Kenya first ever whitewater kayaking festival. The third annual event will take place between the 8th and the 10th of December 2017, on the Tana River, in Central Kenya.
The festival aims to bring together the East African and International whitewater community for a weekend of fun, challenging competitions on Kenya's most famous river. The festival hopes to increase the participation of Kenyans in the sport, while encouraging international paddlers to come to Kenya for trips on world-class whitewater. Entry will be 4000/- for internationals and 2000/- for locals. Prizes

LocationThe Tana River is one of Kenya finest rivers, with a range of sections from calm to crazy and is the heart of the Kenyan paddling scene. The commercial section, near the town of Sagana, will play host to the majority of events. While the Lower Section, a very steep 3km section, some 20km downstream will host a creek race.
